DESCRIPTION
CALCIUM CHLORIDE is a salt that is extremely water soluble. The
purity varies from 74% to 94%. It is a white, hygroscopic flake,
powder or pellet. It is soluble in water and insoluble in oil. Picks
up water of hydration from moist air.
APPLICATION
CALCIUM CHLORIDE is used to prepare brine solutions up to 12 ppb
for completion fluids and as a gaseous solution in the emulsion
when formulating 'oil-base' muds. Heat is generated upon solution
of CALCIUM CHLORIDE in water. |
